The RB1 FISH Probe is used to detect RB1 gene aneusomy.
The RB1 gene is a well characterized tumor-suppressor gene; bi-allelic inactivation of the RB1 gene due to mutations and/or deletions is causal for the development of Retinoblastoma (RB) as well as Bladder Cancer. Deletions of the RB1 locus are also common in a wide variety of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies including chronic lymphocytic leukemia, multiple myeloma, acute myelocytic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and chronic myeloproliferative disorders.
Empire Genomics has developed a custom RB1 probe which can be used to detect/confirm a rearrangement of the RB1 gene. The probe comes labeled in orange, and you may also choose to customize the probe to meet your needs.
