Description
Alpha 1-Acid Glycoprotein 1 also known as ORM1, is a member of the inositol calycin superfamily. It is an acute phase plasma protein synthesized by the liver. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined. However, it may be involved in aspects of immunosuppression. The protein is believed to regulate the interaction between blood cells and endothelial cells, and together with haptoglobin and C reactive protein, also regulates the extravasation of the cells during infection and inflammation. Expression of ORM1 is induced by acute-phase stimulatory agents such as bacterial lipopolysaccharides. Recombinant human Alpha 1-Acid Glycoprotein 1/ORM1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
