Description
APIP, also known as probable methylthioribulose-1-phosphate dehydratase, catalyzes the dehydration of methylthioribulose-1-phosphate (MTRu-1-P) into 2, 3-diketo-5-methylthiopentyl-1-phosphate (DK-MTP-1-P). It has an anti-apoptotic function and prevents muscle ischemic damage. This protein inhibits the cytochrome c-dependent and APAF1-mediated cell death. Recombinant human APIP protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.Alternative Names
