Description
Arginase is a manganese-containing enzyme which catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. It is the final enzyme of the urea cycle. At least two isoforms of mammalian arginase exist (types I and II) which differ in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic cross-reactivity and physiologic function. The type II isoform is located in the mitochondria and expressed in extra-hepatic tissues, especially kidney. It is thought to play a role in nitric oxide and polyamine metabolism. Recombinant human ARG2, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.Alternative Names
Arginase-2 type II, Kidney arginase, Non-hepatic arginase, Arginase-2, type II Arginase II mitochondrial, Kidney type arginase, Non hepatic arginase.Concentration
0.5mg/ml (determined by Bradford assay)Concentration
Liquid in. 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0) containing 10% glycerolStorage: Can be stored at +2C to +8C for 1 week. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
