Description
BCAM, also known as Basal cell adhesion molecule isoform 1, is an immunoglobulin superfamily protein that arises from alternate splicing of the Lutheran blood group molecule. This protein is upregulated following malignant transformation of some cell types in vivo and in vitro, thus being a candidate molecule involved in tumor progression. Also, it interacts with integrin in sickle red cells, and may potentially play a role in vaso-occlusive episodes. Recombinant human BCAM, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
