Description
BCAT2 belongs to the class-IV pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. This protein forms a dimer that catalyzes the first step in the production of the branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. It may also function as a transporter of branched chain alpha-keto acids. Recombinant human BCAT2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
