Description
GALM (Galactose mutarotase), also known as Aldose 1-epimerase, is a key enzyme of carbohydrate metabolism catalysing the conversion of beta-D-galactose to alpha-D-galactose. This protein may be essential for normal galactose metabolism by maintaining the equilibrium of alpha and beta anomers of galactose. Also it is required for the production of complex oligosaccharides. Recombinant human GALM, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography.Alternative Names
