Description
Omega-amidase NIT2, also known NIT2, belongs to the nitrilase superfamily. This protein has an omega-amidase activity. The role of omega-amidase is to remove potentially toxic intermediates by converting alpha-ketoglutaramate and alpha-ketosuccinamate to biologically useful alpha-ketoglutarate and oxaloacetate, respectively. Also Nit2, which is widely distributed in nature, has been suggested to be a tumor suppressor protein. Recombinant human NIT2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
