Description
SIRT2 (NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin-2) is a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes and are involved in diverse processes, including transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, DNA-damage repair and aging. SIRT2 is a NAD-dependent deacetylase, which deacetylates the 'Lys-40' of alpha-tubulin. Recombinant human SIRT2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-2, NAD-dependent protein defatty-acylase sirtuin-2, Regulatory protein SIR2 homolog 2, SIR2-like protein 2, SIR2L, SIR2L2, Sirtuin, Silent mating type information regulation 2 homolog 2 (S. cerevisiae) cerevisiae)Concentration
0.25mg/ml (determined by Bradford assay)Concentration
Liquid in. 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0) containing 30% glycerol, 2mM DTT, 200mM NaCl, 0.5mM EDTAStorage: Can be stored at +2C to +8C for 1 week. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
