Description
uGP2 is an important intermediary in mammalian carbohydrate interconversions. It transfers a glucose moiety from glucose-1-phosphate to MguTP and forms uDP-glucose and MgPPi. In liver and muscle tissue, uDP-glucose is a direct precursor of glycogen; in lactating mammary gland it is converted to uDP-galactose which is then converted to lactose. Recombinant human uGP2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase 2, UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase 1, UTP--glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase, UGP1, UGPP1, SVUGP2, UDPGP, UGPaseConcentration
0.25mg/ml (determined by Bradford assay)Concentration
Liquid in. Phosphate-Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) containing 30% glycerol,1mM DTTStorage: Can be stored at +2C to +8C for 1 week. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C to -80C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
