Agrin, also known as AGRN, is a large proteoglycan whose best-characterised role is in the development of the neuromuscular junction during embryogenesis. Agrin is named based on its involvement in the aggregation of acetylcholine receptors during synaptogenesis The agrin gene is expressed in rat embryonic nervous system and muscle. This protein is concentrated at synapses, where it may play a role in development and regeneration. When secreted, agrin binds to several receptors on the surface of skeletal muscle. Recombinant Rat Agrin, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.Alternative Names
