Protein Family: CAM Ligands
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death
Alternate Names: Fibronectin; Arg-Gly-Asp; RGDC
Accession No.: P02751
Description:
The RGD peptide is the binding motif of fibronectin to cell adhesion molecules. The RGDC peptide inhibits platelet aggregation and fibrinogen binding. Surfaces modified with the RGDC peptide were shown to be effective for osteoblast binding and proliferation. RGDC can be bound to gold particles and gold-coated implants via its sulfhydryl group in the cysteine residue.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized solid packaged under an inert gas and supplied as a trifluoroacetate salt.
MW: 448.48 g/mol
Sequence:
H-Arg-Gly-Asp-Cys-OH or H-RGDC-OH
Composition:
C15H26N7O7S1
Purity:
> 95% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C.
