Background:
The protein encoded by this gene is a DNA-bindingtranscription factor and is a member of the NR1 subfamily ofnuclear hormone receptors. The specific functions of this proteinare not known; however, studies of a similar gene in mice haveshown that this gene may be essential for lymphoid organogenesisand may play an important regulatory role in thymopoiesis. Inaddition, studies in mice suggest that the protein encoded by thisgene may inhibit the expression of Fas ligand and IL2. Twotranscript variants encoding different isoforms have been found forthis gene.
Other Names:
Nuclear receptor ROR-gamma, Nuclear receptor RZR-gamma, Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group F member 3, RAR-related orphan receptor C, Retinoid-related orphan receptor-gamma, RORC, NR1F3, RORG, RZRG
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13786c was selected from the Center region of RORC. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: RORC
Gene ID: 6097
Primary Accession: P51449
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
