Background:
S100A6 is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. This protein may function in stimulation of Ca2+-dependent insulin release, stimulation of prolactin secretion, and exocytosis.

Other Names:
Protein S100-A6, Calcyclin, Growth factor-inducible protein 2A9, MLN 4, Prolactin receptor-associated protein, PRA, S100 calcium-binding protein A6, S100A6, CACY

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7346b was selected from the C-term region of human S100A6. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: S100A6

Gene ID: 6277
Primary Accession: P06703
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
