Protein Family: Translation Factors
Pathway and Disease: Folding, Sorting and Degradation, Transcription, Translation
Alternate Names: Splicing factor, arginine/serine-rich 2; Splicing factor SC35; SC35; Splicing component, 35 kDa; Protein PR264; SFRS2
Accession No.: Q01130, NP_003007
Description:
Splicing factor SC35 (SC35) is necessary for the splicing of pre-mRNA by forming the earliest ATP-dependent splicing complex and interacting with spliceosomal components bound to the 5'- and 3'-splice sites during spliceosome assembly. SC35 is used to detect nuclear speckles or interchromatin granule clusters.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 mg of lyophilized peptide. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1875 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200181 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human SC35. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C76H127N23O30S1
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
