Background:
The SCAN domain is a highly conserved, leucine-rich motifof approximately 60 aa originally found within a subfamily of zincfinger proteins. This gene belongs to a family of genes that encodean isolated SCAN domain, but no zinc finger motif. Functionalstudies have established that the SCAN box is a protein interactiondomain that mediates both hetero- and homoprotein associations, andmaybe involved in regulation of transcriptional activity. Twotranscript variants with different 5' UTRs, but encoding the sameprotein, have been described for this gene.
Other Names:
SCAN domain-containing protein 1, SCAND1, SDP1
Gene Name: SCAND1
Gene ID: 51282
Primary Accession: P57086
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
