Protein Family: Cytokines

Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Nervous and Sensory Systems, Signal Transduction

Alternate Names: Kit ligand, C-kit ligand, stem cell factor, SCF, mast cell growth factor, MGF, KITLGDescription:
ReStem Cell Factor (SCF) stimulates the proliferation of mast cells, augments the proliferation of both myeloid and lymphoid hematopoietic progenitors in bone marrow culture, and mediates cell-cell adhesion. SCF acts synergistically with other cytokines such as interleukins. Recombinant Human SCF produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids with a MW of 18,409 Da.

Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.

Applications: E, WB

Application Notes:
Human SCF is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of Human TF-1 cells is less then 1.7 ng/ml.

Accession No.: P21583

MW: 18409 Da

Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug protein lyophilized in 10 mM acetic acid. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
