Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Development and behavior, Immune System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Stromal cell-derived factor 1, SDF-1, C-X-C motif chemokine 12, CXCL12, Pre-B cell growth-stimulating factor, PBSF, 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol 13-acetate repressed protein 1, TPAR1, Thymic lymphoma cell-stimulating factor, TLSF, SDF1Description:
SDF-1 is a chemoattractant active on T-lymphocytes, monocytes, but not neutrophils. It activates the C-X-C chemokine receptor CXCR4 to induce a rapid and transient rise in the level of intracellular calcium ions and chemotaxis. SDF-1 acts a positive regulator of monocyte migration and a negative regulator of monocyte adhesion via the Lyn kinase. Recombinant Mouse SDF-1a produced in E. coli is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 68 amino acids with a MW of 7,921 Da.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
SDF-1alpha is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The specific activity as determined by its ability to chemoattract human monocytes at 50-100 ng/ml ml.
Accession No.: P40224
MW: 7921 Da
Sequence:
KPVSLSYRCP CRFFESHIAR ANVKHLKILN TPNCALQIVA RLKNNNRQVC IDPKLKWIQE YLEKALNK
Purity:
Purity > 98% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
Pathway and Disease: Development and behavior, Immune System, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
