Background:
The Sec61 complex is the central component of the proteintranslocation apparatus of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. The protein encoded by this gene and SEC63 protein are found to beassociated with ribosome-free SEC61 complex. It is speculated thatSec61-Sec62-Sec63 may perform post-translational proteintranslocation into the ER. The Sec61-Sec62-Sec63 complex might alsoperform the backward transport of ER proteins that are subject tothe ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent degradation pathway. The encodedprotein is an integral membrane protein located in the rough ER.
Other Names:
Translocation protein SEC62, Translocation protein 1, TP-1, hTP-1, SEC62, TLOC1
Gene Name: SEC62
Gene ID: 7095
Primary Accession: Q99442
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
