Background:
Cardiac Troponin I (cTnI) is a protein that in rats is encoded by the TNNI3 gene. It is a tissue-specific subtype of troponin I. It has been shown to interact with PKD2L1, Troponin C type 1 and Polycystic kidney disease 2. An increased level of cTnI in the blood has been shown to be a biomarker of heart disorders, the most important of which is myocardial infarction (MI). Human cardiac Troponin I shares 93% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat cardiac Troponin I.
Long Name: Cardiac Troponin I
Synonyms:
CMH7, TNNC1, TNNI3, Troponin I
Sample Type:
Serum, Plasma, Cell culture supernatant.
Assay Lenght: 3.5h
