Isotype: Rat IgG2a kappa
Decription:
Small heterodimer partner (SHP) is a 257-amino acid orphan nuclear receptor expressed in the liver, pancreas, spleen, small intestine, and adrenal gland in humans. SHP inhibits the transcriptional activity of hepatocyte nuclear factor-4alpha (HNF4alpha). Recently a cohort of Japanese patients with maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY) were screened and seven mutations found that result in impaired inhibition of HNF-4 transcriptional activity in vitro. Defects in NR0B2 may be associated with early-onset obesity.

Synonyms: Small Heterodimer Partner, Orphan Nuclear Receptor SHP, Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 0 Group M member 2, NR0B2
