Background:
Sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectins, orSIGLECs (e.g., CD33 (MIM 159590)), are a family of type 1transmembrane proteins each having a unique expression pattern, mostly in hemopoietic cells. SIGLEC8 is a member of the CD33-likesubgroup of SIGLECs, which are localized to 19q13.3-q13.4 and have2 conserved cytoplasmic tyrosine-based motifs: an immunoreceptortyrosine-based inhibitory motif, or ITIM (see MIM 604964), and amotif homologous to one identified in signaling lymphocyteactivation molecule (SLAM; MIM 603492) that mediates an associationwith SLAM-associated protein (SAP; MIM 300490) (summarized byFoussias et al., 2000 [PubMed 11095983]).
Other Names:
Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 8, Siglec-8, Sialoadhesin family member 2, SAF-2, SIGLEC8, SAF2
Gene Name: SIGLEC8
Gene ID: 27181
Primary Accession: Q9NYZ4
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
