Background:
This gene encodes a protein belonging to the spermidine/spermin synthase family. Pseudogenes of this gene are located on chromosomes 1, 5, 6 and X. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked Snyder-Robinson mental retardation syndrome. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]
Alternative Name:
Spermine synthase, SPMSY, Spermidine aminopropyltransferase
Application Dilution: WB : 1:500 - 1:2000
Specificity: SMS polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of SMS protein.
Immunogen:
Recombinant protein of human SMS
MW: Predicted band size: 41 kDa, Observed band size: Refer to Figures
Swis Prot.: P52788
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1mg/ml in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
