Background:
The base excision repair (BER) pathway removes incorrect bases (uracil) or damaged bases (3-methyladenine) from chromatin. Each BER enzyme system addresses a specific type of base damage. Uracil-DNA glycosylases, UNG2 and SMUG1 (single-strand selective monofunctional uracil DNA glycosylase) remove uracil from both double- and single-stranded DNA in nucleosomes (chromatin core particle). The uracil-excising enzyme family shares structural and functional conservation with minimal sequence conservation.
Alternative Name:
Single-strand selective monofunctional uracil DNA glycosylase
Application Dilution: WB: 1:200 - 1:1000
Specificity: SMUG1 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of SMUG1 protein.
Immunogen:
Recombinant protein of human SMUG1.
MW: ~ 30 kDa
Swis Prot.: Q53HV7
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1mg/ml in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
