Background:
The nuclear import of the spliceosomal snRNPs U1, U2, U4and U5, is dependent on the presence of a complex nuclearlocalization signal. The latter is composed of the5'-2,2,7-terminal trimethylguanosine (m3G) cap structure of the UsnRNA and the Sm core domain. The protein encoded by this geneinteracts specifically with m3G-cap and functions as ansnRNP-specific nuclear import receptor. Alternatively splicedtranscript variants encoding the same protein have been identifiedfor this gene.
Other Names:
Snurportin-1, RNA U transporter 1, SNUPN, RNUT1, SPN1
Gene Name: SNUPN
Gene ID: 10073
Primary Accession: O95149
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
