Protein Family: Receptors and Channels, Cellular Antigens
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Growth and Death, Endocrine System, Development and Behavior, Neurodegenerative Disorders, Infectious Diseases
Alternate Names: Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 1A, Tumor necrosis factor receptor 1, TNF-R1, Tumor necrosis factor receptor type I, TNF-RI, TNFR-I, p60, p55, CD120a, TNFRSF1A, TNFAR, TNFR1Description:
TNF Receptor 1 (TNFR1) is expressed in most tissues and is activated by soluble and membrane-bound TNFalpha. TNFR1 is known to activate NF-kB and MAPK pathways to induce inflammation, promote apoptotic cell death, inhibit tumorigenesis and inhibit viral replication. Recombinant soluble TNFR1 is produced in E.coli. The soluble form of recombinant human TNFR1 is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 162 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 18.3 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by its ability to inhibit the cytolytic effects 0.25 ng/mL TNFα has on mouse L929 cells, in the presence of Actinomycin D, and is typically between 0.045-0.09 ng/mL. Specific activity: 2 x 10e7 units/mg
Accession No.: P19438
MW: 18300 Da

Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 20 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.2 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
