Background:
SOX1 is a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. This protein may act as a transcriptional activator after forming a protein complex with other proteins. In mice, a similar protein regulates the gamma-crystallin genes and is essential for lens development. [provided by RefSeq]

Other Names:
Transcription factor SOX-1, SOX1

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP2758c was selected from the Center region of human SOX1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: SOX1

Gene ID: 6656
Primary Accession: O00570
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
