Background:
This gene encodes a member of the Sp subfamily of Sp/XKLFtranscription factors. Sp family proteins are sequence-specificDNA-binding proteins characterized by an amino-terminaltrans-activation domain and three carboxy-terminal zinc fingermotifs. This protein contains the least conserved DNA-bindingdomain within the Sp subfamily of proteins, and its DNA sequencespecificity differs from the other Sp proteins. It localizesprimarily within subnuclear foci associated with the nuclearmatrix, and can activate or in some cases repress expression fromdifferent promoters.

Other Names:
Transcription factor Sp2, SP2, KIAA0048

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13121b was selected from the C-term region of SP2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: SP2

Gene ID: 6668
Primary Accession: Q02086
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
