Background:
Somatostatin acts at many sites to inhibit the release ofmany hormones and other secretory proteins. The biological effectsof somatostatin are probably mediated by a family of Gprotein-coupled receptors that are expressed in a tissue-specificmanner. The encoded protein is a member of the superfamily ofsomatostatin receptors having seven transmembrane segments, and isexpressed in highest levels in jejunum and stomach. [provided byRefSeq].
Other Names:
Somatostatin receptor type 1, SS-1-R, SS1-R, SS1R, SRIF-2, SSTR1
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP14037b was selected from the C-term region of SSTR1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: SSTR1
Gene ID: 6751
Primary Accession: P30872
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
