Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Endocrine System, Signal Transduction, Transcription
Description:
STAT3 (Signal transducer and activator of transduction 3) is a transcription factor that binds to the interleukin-6 responsive elements located in the promoter regions of various acute-phase protein genes. STAT3 is activated by IL-31 receptor pathway. Active STAT3 consists in homodimers or heterodimers with family member STAT1 and serine phosphorylation is important for DNA-binding and transcriptional activities. Defects in STAT3 are the cause of hyperimmunoglobulin E recurrent infection syndrome (Job syndrome).
Alternate Names: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 3, Acute-phase response factor, STAT3, APRF
Application Notes: WB: 1:500-1:2000; IHC: 1:200-1:1000; IF: 1:200-1:1000;
Accession No.: P40763
Antigen: Purified recombinant fragment of human STAT3 expressed in E. coli.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml ascitic fluid with 0.03% sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at 4°C for short term use only. Store at -20°C for storage over 1 month. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
