Protein Family: Transcription Factors
Pathway and Disease: Transcription, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Signal Transduction
Description:
STAT5 (Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5A) carries out a dual function: signal transduction and activation of transcription. STAT5 is tyrosine phosphorylated in response to IL-2, IL-3, IL-7, IL-15, GM-CSF, growth hormone, prolactin, erythropoietin and thrombopoietin. Phosphorylation results in translocation into the nucleus, where it binds to the GAS element and activates transcription. Tyrosine phosphorylation is required for DNA-binding activity and dimerization. Serine phosphorylation is also required for maximal transcriptional activity.
Alternate Names: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 5A, STAT5A, STAT5
Application Notes: WB: 1:200-1:1000
Accession No.: P42229
Antigen: Purified recombinant fragment of human STAT5B expressed in E. coli.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml ascitic fluid with 0.03% sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at 4°C for short term use only. Store at -20°C for storage over 1 month. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
