Background:
This gene encodes a member of the stathmin family ofphosphoproteins. Stathmin proteins function in microtubule dynamicsand signal transduction. The encoded protein plays a regulatoryrole in neuronal growth and is also thought to be involved inosteogenesis. Reductions in the expression of this gene have beenassociated with Down's syndrome and Alzheimer's disease.Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed forthis gene. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm ofchromosome 6.
Other Names:
Stathmin-2, Superior cervical ganglion-10 protein, Protein SCG10, STMN2, SCG10, SCGN10
Gene Name: STMN2
Gene ID: 11075
Primary Accession: Q93045
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
