Protein Family: Ubiquitins
Pathway and Disease: Folding, Sorting and Degradation
Alternate Names: Small ubiquitin-related modifier 2; Ubiquitin-like protein SMT3B; SMT3 homolog 2; Sentrin-2; HSMT3; Small ubiquitin-related modifier 3; Ubiquitin-like protein SMT3A; SMT3 homolog 1; SUMO2; SMT3H2; SUMO3
Accession No.: P61956, P55854
Description:
SUMO2 and SUMO3 are ubiquitin-like proteins which can be covalently attached to target lysines as a monomer. SUMO proteins play a role in a number of cellular processes such as nuclear transport, DNA replication and repair, mitosis and signal transduction.
Format:
Each vial contains 0.1 ml peptide in deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Use at 5.6 ug/ml for a 100X excess over antibody for maximum blocking effect.
MW: 1935 g/mol
Sequence:
The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200130 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human SUMO2/3. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
Composition:
C78H123N19O34S2
Purity:
> 80% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C.
