Protein Family: SNAREs
Pathway and Disease: Membrane Transport, Endocrine System, Nervous and Sensory Systems
Description:
SYP (Synaptophysin) is a 38kDa synaptic vesicle glycoprotein with four transmembrane domains. Synaptophysin is present in neuroendocrine cells and in virtually all neurons in the brain and spinal cord that participate in synaptic transmission. Synaptophysin is a marker for neuroendocrine tumors, and its ubiquity at the synapse has led to the use of synaptophysin immunostaining for quantification of synapses.
Alternate Names: Synaptophysin, Major synaptic vesicle protein p38, p38, SYP
Application Notes: WB: 1:500-1:2000
Accession No.: P08247
Antigen: Purified recombinant fragment of SYP expressed in E. coli.
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 ml ascitic fluid with 0.03% sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at 4°C for short term use only. Store at -20°C for storage over 1 month. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
