Background:
The tachykinin familyconsists of amidated neuropeptidesthatshare a carboxyterminalsequence (Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2). Preprotachykinin I, also designated protachykinin 1 precursor (PPT), is a common precursor of tachykinins. Preprotachykinin I alternatelysplicesto formvariousisoforms. These isoforms include: Substance P; Neurokinin A (NKA, Substance K, Neuromedin L); Neurokinin B;Neuropeptide K (NPK);Neuropeptide γ; and C-terminal flanking peptide. Substance P is expressesed primarilyin the small diameter primary sensoryfibers of the peripheral nervoussystem, and in the superficial dorsal horn of the spinalcord, the substantia nigra, and the medial amygdaloid nucleus of the central nervoussystem. Tachykinin peptides havemany plieotropicfunctionsincluding: neurotransmission, immune/ hematopoieticmodulation, angiogenesis andmitogenesis. Preprotachykinin I has been implicated in breastcancer and bonemarrowmetastasis. Substance P plays a role in depression.
Alternative Name:
Protachykinin-1, PPT, Substance P, Neurokinin A, NKA, Neuromedin L, Substance K, Neuropeptide K, NPK ,Neuropeptide gamma, C-terminal-flanking peptide, TAC1, NKA, NKNA, TAC2
Application Dilution: WB: 1:500~1:1000
Specificity: TAC1 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of TAC1 protein.
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in Human TAC1.
MW: ~ 17 kDa
Swis Prot.: P20366
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
