Background:
Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. This pathway can also maintain glutathione at a reduced state and thus protect sulfhydryl groups and cellular integrity from oxygen radicals.

Other Names:
Transaldolase, TALDO1, TAL, TALDO, TALDOR

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6679c was selected from the Center region of human TALDO1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: TALDO1 (HGNC:11559)

Gene ID: 6888
Primary Accession: P37837
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
