Background:
Dioxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of the modified genomic base 5-methylcytosine (5mC) into 5- hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) and plays a key role in active DNA demethylation. Also mediates subsequent conversion of 5hmC into 5- formylcytosine (5fC), and conversion of 5fC to 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC). Conversion of 5mC into 5hmC, 5fC and 5caC probably constitutes the first step in cytosine demethylation. Methylation at the C5 position of cytosine bases is an epigenetic modification of the mammalian genome which plays an important role in transcriptional regulation.
Alternative Name:
Methylcytosine dioxygenase TET1, CXXC-type zinc finger protein 6, Ten-eleven translocation 1 gene protein homolog, Cxxc6, Kiaa1676
Application Dilution: WB: 1:2000
Specificity: Tet1 (C-term) polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of Tet1 protein.
Immunogen:
This mouse Tet1 antibody is generated from a rabbit immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1845-1879 amino acids from the C-terminal region of mouse Tet1.
MW: ~ 219 kDa
Swis Prot.: Q3URK3
Purification & Purity:
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Format:
1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2.
Storage:
Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
For research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedure.
