Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Growth and Death, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Transforming growth factor beta-3, TGF-beta-3, TGFB3Description:
The Transforming Growth Factors (TGFs) are multifunctional peptides that regulate growth and differentiation in a variety of cells. Recent data suggests that individual TGF-beta isoforms (TGF-beta1, -beta2 and –beta3) have overlapping, yet distinct biological actions and target cell specificities, both in developing and adult tissues. TGF-beta3 is a new isoform that is presumed to play an important role in wound repair and scarring. TGF-beta3 is also thought to be involved in osteoblast proliferation, chemotaxis, and collagen synthesis. Mouse TGF-beta 3 is produced in E.coli. Recombinant mouse TGF-beta3 is a non-glycosylated, disulfide-linked homodimer, containing two 112 amino acid chains, with a total molecular weight of 25.5 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Application Notes:
The activity is determined by the cell toxicity assay, using the WHO Standard 98/608 as a direct comparison, and is typically less than 0.05 ng/mL. Specific activity: 2 x 10e7 units/mg
Accession No.: Q9EP95
MW: 25500 Da
Sequence:
ALDTNYCFRN LEENCCVRPL YIDFRQDLGW KWVHEPKGYY ANFCSGPCPY LRSADTTHST VLGLYNTLNP EASASPCCVP QDLEPLTILY YVGRTPKVEQ LSNMVVKSCK CS
Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.
Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
