Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cell Growth and Death, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Endocrine System, Immune System, Metabolic Disorders, Neurodegenerative Disorders
Description:
Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a) is a cytokine produced by activated monocytes and macrophages. TNF-a stimulates inflammation and can act directly as an inducer of apoptosis. It mediates many of the systemic acute phase responses but can also cause septic shock in patients with serious infections. Human TNF-a is a 17.4 kDa protein containing 157 amino acid residues. This antibody is specific for human TNF-alpha.
Alternate Names: Tumor necrosis factor, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2, TNF-alpha, Cachectin
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250362 reacts strongly in ELISA with human TNF-alpha coated directly onto the microtiter well. E: 1:2,000
Accession No.: PO1375
Antigen: Human TNF-alpha
Format: Each vial contains 0.2 mg IgG in 0.2 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
