Protein Family: Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction, Cell Growth and Death, Endocrine System, Immune System, Metabolic Disorders
Description:
Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) is a cytokine that binds to the TNF-R1 and TNF-R2 receptors. TNF-alpha is mainly secreted by macrophages and induces cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is a potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of IL-1 secretion, and therefore found in cachexia accompanying diverse cancers and infections. Genetic variations in TNF are associated with susceptibility to psoriatic arthritis and to HBV infection. This antibody recognizes human TNF-alpha in ELISA.
Alternate Names: Tumor necrosis factor, TNF-alpha, Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2, TNF-a, Cachectin, TNF, TNFA, TNFSF2
Application Notes: Cat. No. 250108 (HRP-conjugated format) can be used as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA format with Cat. No. 254525 as capture antibody. E: 1 ug/ml
Accession No.: P01375
Antigen: Recombinant human TNF-alpha protein
Format: Each vial contains 0.1 mg IgG in 0.1 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment.
