Background:
Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponinC (TnC), is one of 3 subunits that form the troponin complex of thethin filaments of striated muscle. TnI is the inhibitory subunit;blocking actin-myosin interactions and thereby mediating striatedmuscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes:TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch, TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch, andTnI-cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI-cardiac protein and isexclusively expressed in cardiac muscle tissues. Mutations in thisgene cause familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) andfamilial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM).
Other Names:
Troponin I, cardiac muscle, Cardiac troponin I, TNNI3, TNNC1
Gene Name: TNNI3
Gene ID: 7137
Primary Accession: P19429
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
