Background:
TORC1 is the transcriptional coactivator for CREB1 which activates transcription through both consensus and variant cAMP response element (CRE) sites. It Acts as a coactivator, in the SIK/TORC signaling pathway, being active when dephosphorylated and acts independently of CREB1 'Ser-133' phosphorylation and Enhances the interaction of CREB1 with TAF4. It regulates the expression of specific CREB-activated genes such as the steroidogenic gene, StAR.
Other Names:
CREB-regulated transcription coactivator 1, Mucoepidermoid carcinoma translocated protein 1, Transducer of regulated cAMP response element-binding protein 1, TORC-1, Transducer of CREB protein 1, CRTC1 (HGNC:16062)
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP6968a was selected from the N-term region of human TORC1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: CRTC1 (HGNC:16062)
Gene ID: 23373
Primary Accession: Q6UUV9
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
