Protein Family: Cytokines

Pathway and Disease: Immune System, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction

Alternate Names: Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin, TSLPDescription:
Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) is a hematopoietic cytokine, produced in several tissues including heart, liver and prostate. TSLP sends signals through a heterodimeric receptor complex, containingthe TSLP-R and the IL-7Ralpha chain to induce the release of T cell-attracting chemokines from monocytes. Human TSLP is produced in E.coli. Recombinant human TSLP is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 132 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 15 kDa.

Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.05ng/ug or <0.5EU/ug.

Applications: E, WB

Application Notes:
The activity can be determined by a cell proliferation assay using BaF3 cells transiently expressing human IL-7Ralpha and human TSLP-R and is typically 0.05-0.3 ng/mL. There is no biological assay data available at this time. Specific activity: 2 x 10e7 units/mg

Purity:
Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.

Format:
Each vial contains 10 ug of lyophilized protein. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml sterile deionized water for a final concentration of 0.1 mg/ml.

Storage: Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
