Background:
This gene encodes a soluble protein that bindsalpha-trocopherol, a form of vitamin E, with high selectivity andaffinity. This protein plays an important role in regulatingvitamin E levels in the body by transporting vitamin E betweenmembrane vesicles and facilitating the secretion of vitamin E fromhepatocytes to circulating lipoproteins. Mutations in this genecause hereditary vitamin E deficiency (ataxia with vitamin Edeficiency, AVED) and retinitis pigmentosa.

Other Names:
Alpha-tocopherol transfer protein, Alpha-TTP, TTPA, TPP1

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 97-108 of HUMAN TTPA

Gene Name: TTPA

Gene ID: 7274
Primary Accession: P49638
Other Accession: P41034; Q8BWP5; NP_000361.1
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
