Background:
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. UBE2H is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. The encoded protein sequence is 100% identical to the mouse homolog and 98% identical to the frog and zebrafish homologs, which indicates that this enzyme is highly conserved in eukaryotes.

Other Names:
Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 H, UbcH2, Ubiquitin carrier protein H, Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2-20K, Ubiquitin-protein ligase H, UBE2H

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP2122b was selected from the C-term region of human UBE2H . A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: UBE2H

Gene ID: 7328
Primary Accession: P62256
Other Accession: NP_874356
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
