Background:
Synaptobrevins/VAMPs, syntaxins, and the 25-kDsynaptosomal-associated protein are the main components of aprotein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synapticvesicles with the presynaptic membrane. This gene is a member ofthe vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevinfamily. Because of its high homology to other known VAMPs, itsbroad tissue distribution, and its subcellular localization, theprotein encoded by this gene was shown to be the human equivalentof the rodent cellubrevin. In platelets the protein resides on acompartment that is not mobilized to the plasma membrane on calciumor thrombin stimulation.
Other Names:
Vesicle-associated membrane protein 3, VAMP-3, Cellubrevin, CEB, Synaptobrevin-3, VAMP3, SYB3
Gene Name: VAMP3
Gene ID: 9341
Primary Accession: Q15836
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
