Protein Family: CAM Ligands, Cytokines
Pathway and Disease: Cancers, Cell Communication, Signal Transduction, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Vascular endothelial growth factor a, VEFG-a, vascular permeablility factor, VPF, VEFGA, VEGFDescription:
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and endothelial cell growth. This cytokine induces permeabilization of blood vessels It binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin. It also plays a role in increasing vascular permeability during lactation, when increased transport of molecules from the blood is required for efficient milk protein synthesis. Recombinant Mouse VEGF-120 is a truncated version of Mouse VEGF-165. Mouse VEGF-120 is a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain consisting of homodimer with a MW of 28.2 kDa.
Source: E. coli. Endotoxin level as measured by LAL is <0.01ng/ug or <0.1EU/ug.
Applications: E, WB
Accession No.: Q00731
MW: 28200 Da
