This monoclonal antibody reacts with a 58kDa protein identified as vimentin. It reacts with a non-hematopoietic epitope of vimentin and shows no cross-reaction with other closely related intermediate filament proteins (IFPā€™s) such as desmin, keratin, neurofilament, and glial fibrillary acid protein.ĀVimentin is ubiquitously expressed in mesenchymal cells such as fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and endothelium. Antibody against vimentin is useful as part of an antibody panel for differential diagnosis of tumors of unknown origin.ĀAb-2 does not react with leukocyte common antigen-positive tissues such as lymphomas and leukemias.

Form: Purified, in 10mM PBS with 0.05% BSA & 0.05% azide. Also available WITHOUT BSA & azide at 1.0mg/ml.
Applications: Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells in 0.1ml)
Immunofluorescence (0.5-1ug/ml)
Immunohistology (Formalin-fixed) (1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT)
(Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min)
Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.
Reactivity: Jurkat cells, Sarcomas, Melanomas
Concentration: 0.2mg/ml
Storage: Can be stored at +4C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing cycles.
