Protein Family: Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Alternate Names: Hemorphin-5; VV-hemorphin-5; Valorphin; Hemoglobin subunit beta; beta-globin; hemoglobin beta chain
Accession No.: P68871
Description:
Hemorphins are endogenous peptides belonging to the family of atypical opioid peptides released from hydrolyzed hemoglobin. VV-hemorphins and LVV-hemorphins preferentially interact with delta and kappa receptors, therefore playing the roles of endogenous opiate peptide in vivo. VV-hemorphin-5 has been shown to have antitumor effect both in vitro and in vivo.
Format:
Each vial contains 1 mg of lyophilized solid packaged under an inert gas and supplied as a trifluoroacetate salt.
MW: 892.0 g/mol
Sequence:
H-Val-Val-Tyr-Pro-Trp-Thr-Gln-OH or H-VVYPWTQ-OH
Composition:
C44H61N9O11
Purity:
> 95% by HPLC
Solubility:
Distilled water for a solution up to 2 mg/ml, otherwise we recommend using acetonitrile.
Storage:
Store at -20°C. The product is hygroscopic and must be protected from light. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C.
