Background:
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation oftRNA by their cognate amino acid. Because of their central role inlinking amino acids with nucleotide triplets contained in tRNAs,aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are thought to be among the firstproteins that appeared in evolution. Two forms of tryptophanyl-tRNAsynthetase exist, a cytoplasmic form, named WARS, and amitochondrial form, named WARS2. Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase(WARS) catalyzes the aminoacylation of tRNA(trp) with tryptophanand is induced by interferon. Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase belongsto the class I tRNA synthetase family. Four transcript variantsencoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Other Names:
Tryptophan--tRNA ligase, cytoplasmic, Interferon-induced protein 53, IFP53, Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase, TrpRS, hWRS, T1-TrpRS, T2-TrpRS, WARS, IFI53, WRS
Gene Name: WARS1 (HGNC:12729)
Gene ID: 7453
Primary Accession: P23381
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
